Crystal Head partners with Joshua Kane

Canadian vodka brand Crystal Head has teamed up with British fashion designer and bespoke tailor Joshua Kane to release three limited edition luxury bottle casings.

The three bottle covers took six months to develop

The creative collaboration has seen the release of a trio of designs that each symbolise a ‘beautiful, rebellious spirit’, a narrative said to be shared by both Kane and Crystal Head Vodka.

Kane said he has “an affinity with Crystal Head Vodka, as a brand that breaks the mould in terms of perceptions of luxury and rebellion.”

He continued: “The skull bottle, to me, represents the rebel and an affinity with non-conformists which is something I identify with.

“I’ve always been a rule breaker and loved the challenge of creating these bespoke skull bottle casings using fabric from my runway collections, pushing boundaries in the craft of tailoring.”

The hand-stitched patterns took Kane six months to develop. The design saw multiple prototype stages due to the challenging dimensions of Crystal Head Vodka’s iconic skull bottle, which was created by renowned artist John Alexander.

The eccentric and eclectic patchwork designs, consisting exclusively of Kane’s bespoke designed and woven British fabrics as seen on the runway, are featured on a limited run of 200 bottles.

The bottles are available in three styles: black and gold; black and red; and black and white.

The three bottle designs are available to purchase in Selfridges London Oxford Street, Selfridges Birmingham, Selfridges Manchester Trafford and Selfridges Manchester Exchange Square from 20 December.

Co-founded by musician and Blues Brothers actor Dan Aykroyd in 2008, Crystal Head Vodka is a Canadian corn-based spirit that offers aromas of citrus and vanilla with a smooth and creamy texture.

The 700ml bottles are priced from RRP £155 (US$187.58).

The Crystal Head range includes an agave-based vodka, called Crystal Head Onyx and Crystal Head Aurora, which was created in celebration of the aurora borealis.
