Aman Spirits debuts Tequila line in Europe
Tequila producer Aman Spirits has launched its portfolio in the UK and Europe via its exclusive distributor, Anker Amsterdam Spirits.
Tequila Aman was founded by Gerardo Madrigal, a former mathematics professor at East Los Angeles College, who developed a love of agave farming and the soils of Nayarit, Mexico on a family trip in 1994, aged nine years old.
Holding a professor position allowed him to invest in the versatile plant and start building the foundation of a brand that honours Nayarit, its lands, and the work of its farmers. He began planting agave on a 6.35 hectare plot of land in 2014.
Aman Spirits is said to be the ‘first and only’ operating Tequila distillery to be built in the state of Nayarit, Mexico, despite being one of five states that are part of the Denomination of Origin for Tequila. Madrigal hopes to shine a light on the region through his Tequilas.
The brand is currently distributed in the US, China, Africa, Mexico and Canada, and will begin distribution in the UK and Europe via Anker Spirits from December 2022.
Anker Amsterdam Spirits is an established European distributor and brand builder with a wide range of niche products across a variety of spirits categories.

Award-winning Tequilas
The Aman Tequila portfolio has been crafted by master distiller Hector Dávalos. It includes rosa, reposado, blanco, añejo and cristalino expressions.
The añejo expression, known as ‘El Profesor’, was awarded a Gold medal at the 2022 Luxury Masters blind tasting.
The Tequila was described as “elegant and vibrant” by the panel of judges. The bottling commemorates Madrigal’s 15 years of educational public service, and is said to be a symbol of his classroom values: tenacity, perseverance, ambition, determination, hope, kindness, and love.
El Profesor Añejo Tequila has been made using very ripe and select agaves, and aged for a minimum of 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
It boasts flavours of agave, brown sugar, vanilla, and butterscotch, with robust wood, pine, and toasted almonds on the nose.
El Profesor stands tall being the only rose gold gradient-metalised Tequila bottle on the market.
All bottles in the collection are a contemporary take on Mexican heritage, visually aligned with a premium feel and the spirit it contains.
The rhomboidal geometric pattern and structure alludes to traditional Mexican and Aztec historic artifacts, which feature similar geometry to the pointed leaves of agave plants.
The innovative metallic gradient – the ‘first of its kind’ on the market – reveals the liquid and glass on the wide side of the bottle.
The portfolio will be offered to the UK and European market for RRP €54.95 – €155 (US$58.60 – $165.30).
