Black Cow partners with Ecospirits
British vodka brand Black Cow has collaborated with closed-loop distribution system Ecospirits to launch a branded ‘Ecotote’ glass vessel.
The Black Cow Ecotote is a fully-reusable, refillable, tamper- and shock-proof 4.5-litre glass casing that replaces the standard six-bottle case of spirits.
The patent-pending technology is at the heart of the Ecospirits system, which allows for low carbon, low waste spirits distribution, in order to reduce the demand for single use glass in the on-trade.
Paul Archard, co-founder of Black Cow said: “Working with Ecospirits to provide refillable bottles to our venue listings is a great next step for us as a business. Sustainability has always been important to us at Black Cow and we are always looking for more ways to achieve this.”
Black Cow will be launching its Ecototes in bars and restaurants around the UK to reduce the demand for single use glass in the hospitality industries, by transitioning into circular packaging technology.
Archard added: “Working with Ecospirits provides this solution as well as giving our customers the ability to enjoy our vodka in a more sustainable way. We’re really looking forward to our journey with Ecospirits and what this can do for the future of our business and those who stock our vodka.”
London neighbourhood restaurant Wild By Tart will be the official launch partner, and the first venue to use Black Cow’s Ecotote in its restaurant.
The teams will also be creating an exclusive cocktail menu to serve throughout November to celebrate this special union and step into a more sustainable path together.
Zdenek Kastanek, international sales director at Ecospirits, added: “Ecospirits has long been mindful of the special impact that single use glass packaging for spirits and the associated carbon emissions is having on the globe.
“We are dedicated to providing brands with the opportunity to amplify their efforts to be more sustainable. Not only does this support spirits brands, but also provides customers to help make sustainable choices when shopping. We can’t wait to continue to roll this initiative out across the UK.”
Black Cow was recently awarded a Master medal in The Vodka Masters 2022 blind tasting.
The brands portfolio includes an English Strawberries expression, a Christmas Spirit and a bottled ready-to-drink Negroni.
Spirits distributor Proof & Company recently pioneered a new Smart Kiosk technology by Ecospirits in Singapore.
