What is the UK’s favourite gin flavour?

A new survey has revealed the UK’s favourite gin flavour, but what came out on top?

The research was carried out by Spanish gin brand Puerto de Indias and market researcher 3Gem.

The survey found that 21.9% consumers said they would pick strawberry over other juniper-based spirit flavours when shopping.

Among respondents aged 18-24 years old, the flavour is even more popular, as more than half (54.5%) selected it as their go-to.

Erwin Maldonado, global chief marketing officer at Puerto de Indias, said: “We are immensely proud to be the number one strawberry gin brand in Spain and it is fantastic to see the trend for natural strawberry gins continue in the UK. We strongly believe our strawberry gin is an ideal way to appeal to strawberry-loving consumers in the UK.”

Discounting the garnish of lemon and lime, strawberries were voted as consumers’ favourite gin garnish when drinking at home, with one-in-five consumers (20.4%) preferring to serve their tipples with the fruit.

The research surveyed 2,000 consumers based in the UK, and asked a series of questions about their reasons for choosing a new gin brand, their favourite gin flavours, and their favourite ways to drink them.
