Patrón debuts third Lalique decanter

Tequila brand Patrón has revealed its third collaborative product with crystal decanter maker Lalique ahead of National Tequila Day (24 July).

Patrón en Lalique: Serie 3 celebrates the Blue Weber agave used to make the Tequila, with the crystal decanter’s design inspired by the plant.

The brand’s master distiller David Rodriguez used 14 rare extra añejo Tequilas, each aged for up to eight years in French and Armagnac casks.

The resulting liquid offers notes of spices, dried fruits, Sherry wine and intense wood.

“Our familia of talented craftsmen are constantly experimenting to create bold innovations that stay true to the Patrón commitment to handcrafted perfection,” said Rodriguez.

“We explored many combinations of extra añejo Tequilas before landing on the liquid excellence that can be found in Patrón en Lalique: Serie 3.”

The decanter was created by Marc Larminaux, Lalique’s artistic and creative director. Each decanter is handmade and individually numbered at Lalique’s factory in Wingen-sur-Moder, in Alsace, France.

The Bacardi-owned brand previously partnered with Lalique in 2017 to launch an Art Deco-style bottling and in 2015 on an Art Nouveau-style decanter.

“With this series we pushed the boundaries of art even further with the design of our decanter that celebrates the natural and raw materials that go into every drop of Patrón Tequila,” explained Silvio Denz, chairman and CEO at Lalique.

“Much like the masters at Patrón, at Lalique we pride ourselves on achieving excellence in everything we do.”

Limited to 299 bottles globally, Patrón en Lalique: Serie 3 is priced at RRP US$7,500 and available to buy from NFT marketplace Block Bar.
