Vitoria Regia gin launches in the UK

South American brand Vitoria Regia is rolling out its organic gin range to the UK, comprising its Dry, Citrus, Tropical and Rose bottlings.

The Organic Citrus gin is bottled at 38% ABV

Included in Vitoria Regia’s gin range is Organic Dry, clocking in at 44% ABV and made with juniper, cardamon, allspice, coriander and lime peel; Organic Rose, with flavours of hibiscus and cranberry; Organic Tropical, with notes of mango and pineapple; and Organic Citrus, presenting a citrus palate of lime, grapefruit, lemongrass, and mint. The latter three bottlings rest at 38% ABV.

The South America-based firm is named after Queen Victoria’s Amazonian lily pad and the Brazilian symbol of botany.

Vitoria Regia is handcrafted in copper pot column stills in Brazil, and made using natural ingredients, with no added sugar or artificial colouring.

The still is said to be the only step of the gin-making process exempt from solar energy, instead powered by recycled organic matter produced from distillation.

Any excess alcohol is then re-distilled, the distillery claim, to make biofuel, while leftover sediment is converted into organic fertiliser.

Vitoria Regia Organic Dry Gin is priced at RRP £38 (US$46), while the flavoured gins have an RRP of £34 (US$41).

The range is available to purchase online from Amathus, Master of Malt, Champers, Enotria and Specialty Drinks, and also via Amazon and Nicolas.
