Spiribam grows UK team
Fine rum specialist Spiribam has expanded its UK team with award-winning bartender and rhum agricole expert Ashera Goonewardene.
Joining Spiribam-UK as its London account manager, Goonewardene brings a wealth of experience from her time at the London-based rhum agricole house and tiki bar The Beachcomber.
Goonewardene was crowned UK Champion by Rhum Clément, a brand in Spiribam’s portfolio, in its annual Ti’ Punch Cup in 2017.
Goonewardene said of her new role: “It’s an honour to be able to join the team having followed [Spiribam’s] journey over the years.
“I look forward to being a part of its continued growth and spreading the knowledge of the rhum agricole category.”
The appointment of Goonewardene follows Spiribam’s recent launch into its own propriety operations, Spiribam-UK, earlier this year.
This week, Aviation American Gin appointed Hollie Stephenson as distillery director at the brand’s soon-to-be-opened production plant and visitor centre.
