London-based distiller 58 Gin has rebranded to 58 and Co to support its expansion into different spirits categories.

Based in London’s Haggerston, 58 and Co produces a London Dry bottling, Apple and Hibiscus Gin and a navy strength bottling.

The relaunch is part of the producer’s move to diversify into other categories, including the launch of the brand’s first vodka.

Created with 100% British wheat spirit, the vodka is said to offer a hint of clotted cream and biscuit.

Furthermore, the distiller will unveil collaborative limited edition spirits, including the 2022 release of a series of small batch shōchūs, made using London sake brewery Kanpai’s pressed kasu, the by-product from sake fermentation.

The brand’s portfolio has also been given a new bottle design, created with bartenders in mind to enable efficient speed rail use.

Carmen O’Neal, founder, 58 and Co, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to unveil our new brand, which we feel truly represents our values, approach and future direction.”

58 and Co has also secured B Corp certification as part of the company’s growth strategy, which includes focusing on strategic partnerships with other sustainable drinks producers.

The London-based distillery is run on 100% solar and renewable energy, and its resin driveway is made from the equivalent of 141,000 plastic straws removed from the ocean.

The brand’s products will also be delivered to bars in eco-friendly pouches to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

O’Neal added: “We’re incredibly proud of our sustainability efforts, collaborative approach to spirit making and community focus, and achieving B Corp status is wonderful, particularly given the challenges that we’ve faced during the pandemic.

“Moving forward, we’re excited to continue distilling some of the best and most meticulously made spirits in the UK, ensuring this is done in the right way, wherever we can, for people, planet and purpose.”

In July 2020, 58 and Co joined the fast-growing hard seltzer category with the launch of its raspberry and pink grapefruit flavours.
