58 Gin adds two new flavours to range
London-based producer 58 Gin has expanded its portfolio with two new flavours: 58 English Berry Gin and 58 Apple and Hibiscus Gin.
The 58 Gin range
The new flavours join the existing 58 Gin range, which includes 58 London Dry Gin and 58 Navy Strength Gin.
The berry-flavoured gin is made with foraged sloe berries, which have been macerated for six months after distillation and then re-distilled at a low temperature. It is recommended served in cocktails.
Meanwhile, 58 Apple and Hibiscus Gin is made using surplus Cox’s apples which would otherwise be binned. The apples, sourced from within the UK, are vapour-distilled alongside hibiscus flowers. The resulting liquid has notes of citrus and juniper which complement the ripe candy apple flavour.
The new gins, both bottled at 43% ABV, have been made to target “ethical retailers and sustainability-conscious consumers”.
Carmen O’Neal, managing director of 58 Gin, said: “Our gin range has been developed to appeal to today’s eco-conscious consumer and retailers wanting to exercise their ethical credentials. We only use natural ingredients and all products are vegan and gluten-free with no artificial additives, sugar, sweeteners or sulphites.
“We’re a small artisan distillery priding ourselves on our ethical approach to business, even down to gifting our botanical waste to the local church.”
The expressions come packaged in 100% recyclable glass bottles, along with a glass cork. The bottles have also been devised with the bartender in mind and have been ergonomically designed to make it easier to spin them around.
The new gins are priced at RRP £34 (US$43) each per 700ml bottle.
Earlier this month, 58 Gin joined the fast-growing hard seltzer category with the launch of its raspberry and pink grapefruit flavours.
