Tobago Gold boosts EU availability
Caribbean rum liqueur brand Tobago Gold has expanded its presence across Europe, entering markets such as Belgium and Sweden.
Launched by Lars Söderström in 2020, Tobago Gold (17% ABV) is a blend of rum, Trinitario and Criollo cocoa, and spices.
The product will soon be available to consumers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg through distributor Jet Import.
Helena Zakmane, the brand’s commercial director, added: “Jet Import is one of the industry’s strongest and most reputable distributors in Europe. Their trust in Tobago Gold success in Benelux is an extremely important acknowledgement for Tobago Gold. I am delighted to kick off our cooperation and start bringing the Caribbean joy to European consumers together.”
Furthermore, the brand will also be available in the Scandinavian market through state monopolies Systembolaget in Sweden and Vinbudin in Iceland.
It will also make its debut in Denmark, Slovakia, Austria and Canada.
In September last year, the brand entered the German market through distributor Liquorland Cooperation.
Lars Bruns, Liquorland Cooperation CEO, added: “Via our own online sales channel, this lovely rum cream liqueur is proving a huge success too. We just established a cooperation for availability through Rum & Co and we also just received the first retail listing with [the] Edeka Strandpassage store in Lüneburg. We are confidently looking forward to working with Tobago Gold in 2022.”
The brand is also available in its home market, Trinidad and Tobago, exclusively through Massy Stores.
From 27 to 29 March, the product will be showcased at the Food Expo in Herning, Denmark, the largest food trade fair in the Nordics.
