The Jameson Anthology collection will comprise two volumes, beginning with Jameson Remastered.

The first release from the Jameson Remastered volume will be Jameson 15 Years Old Single Pot Still, a reinvention of a ‘much-loved classic’ that was last produced in 2000 as a limited edition bottling.

Kevin O’Gorman, master distiller, said: “It’s been more than two decades since the last Jameson 15 Years Old was created and it has been a great opportunity to remaster this classic whiskey.

“For this limited edition bottling, we seized the opportunity to combine the traditional single pot still style with the strong influence of the Sherry casks, which was integral to historic whiskey production.”

The expression is made from three whiskey styles, that were aged between 15 and 17 years in American Bourbon barrels and oloroso Sherry butts.

Jameson 15 Years Old Single Pot Still is packaged in newspaper-wrapped bottle, with one side uncovering the brand’s heritage and the other side marking the present day. It comes in recyclable honeycomb cardboard packaging.

Sitting at 56.4% ABV, the single pot still whiskey will come in a 500ml bottle priced at RRP €300 (US$334). It will be limited to 2,220 bottles available through two online ballots.

The first ballot will open to members of the Barrel Club Midleton Distillery at 9am IST on 4 April. The second ballot will open to the general public at 2pm IST on Friday 8 April. Bottles will be shipped to successful buyers from the end of April.

Tasting notes include nutty tones, dark berries and orchard fruits on the nose, leading to a ‘robust and spicy palate’. Flavours include fudge, vanilla, fruit, and lingering spice and oak tannins on the finish.

Deirdre O’Carroll, blender, commented: “The inclusion of the Sherry casks creates incredibly rich flavours and an extra-long fusion of fruits and spices, in line with traditional pot still flavours that are known and loved.”

The second volume in the Jameson Anthology series will be Jameson Remixed, which will aim to give a ‘new take’ on the classic Irish whiskey.

Last month, Jameson unveiled a multi-million-pound campaign ahead of St Patrick’s Day on 17 March.

In other recent news, the brand can now be found at Boxpark venues across London after parent company Pernod Ricard secured pouring rights until 2024.
