The Portland-based distillery has combined Eastside’s ‘rare’ whiskey blend with Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur to create the producer’s first Maraschino-flavoured whiskey and liqueur.

Jason Ericson, Eastside’s head distiller, said: “Combining old-world liqueur with select casks of new-world American whiskey creates a unique and approachable product that’s the perfect addition to any bar, and is sure to entice consumers new to the world of whiskey.”

Tasting notes include aromas of cherry mixed with dry figs and oak tannins, leading to flavours of cherry, vanilla, pie crust and hints of citrus on the palate.

Bottled at 30% ABV, Eastside Cherry Whiskey and Liqueur is available from select alcohol stores in Oregon, priced at RRP US$39.95.

It can also be bought online at eastsidedistilling.com with shipping available throughout the US. Distribution will also expand to California, Washington, Colorado, Arizona and Texas this year.

The distiller experienced a 21.2% jump in sales in 2020, boosted by triple-digit Tequila growth and demand for its canning service.

Earlier this month, news broke that the company’s chief executive Paul Block had resigned after 18 months in the role.
