The new expressions are Bruichladdich Black Art 09.1 and Octomore 12 Series, which are now available in Singapore.

The Chinese New Year begins on 1 February 2022, and will welcome the year of the tiger.

Adam Hannett, Bruichladdich head distiller, said: “With this edition of Black Art, I took inspiration from the groundwork done in the early days of this series, where there was a relentless pursuit to layer flavour.

“This whisky would rest in some of the finest casks, sometimes just a few weeks, adding a delicate layer of fruit before we moved the whisky on again.

“Carefully waiting, watching and tasting, looking to chart new directions with each new cask we used until finally arriving at a point of perfection.”

Black Art 09.1 is bottled at 44.1% ABV and retails for RRP S$720 (US$534). In keeping with the Black Art series, the casks used to make this unpeated expression will not be revealed.

The 12th series of Octomore boasts a high peat level of more than 100 PPM, and features a trio of five-year-old single malts.

The 12.1 bottling was aged in ex-American oak casks for five years and retails for S$260 (US$193).

The 12.2 expression pairs heavily peated spirit with ex-Sauternes cask finishing. The whisky was rested in ex-American oak casks for three-and-a-half years before spending 18 months in Sauternes casks. It is priced at RRP S$300 (US$222).

The single vintage 12.3 completes the series. The producer put 75% of the distillate into ex-American oak casks and 25% into Pedro Ximénez solera casks for five years. The bottling will retail for RRP S$365 (US$270).

The Octomore 12 Series whiskies are also available throughout January at Singapore venue Vault 50, at a bundle price of S$808 (US$599).

All four whiskies will be available to buy online at Rémy Cointreau’s Laz Mall, Shopee and Amazon.

Last year, Bruichladdich debuted the first instalment in its Micro Provenance series of single cask releases.
