Brewdog creates navy strength gin
By Kate MalczewskiScottish producer Brewdog Distilling Co has unveiled a navy strength bottling as the latest addition to its Lonewolf Gin line.
In October 2021, Brewdog overhauled its spirits selection to coincide with the opening of its new distillery in Ellon, Scotland.
The move included a redesign of its 500 Cuts botanical rum and Lonewolf Gin ranges, bringing both brands under a more “Brewdog-led identity”, according to Steven Kersley, the company’s head of distillation.
Now the brewer and distiller is growing its spirits portfolio with the launch of Gunpowder Gin, a punchy 57% ABV bottling recommended for sipping straight, or for mixing in a Martini or Negroni.
The liquid is made with Tuscan juniper; pink, black and Szechuan peppercorns; Paraguayan bitter oranges; Sicilian lemons; Mexican pink grapefruit; and star anise.
It joins four other expressions in the Lonewolf Gin range: Original, Cloudy Lemon, Cactus and Lime, and Peach and Passionfruit. The latter variant earned a Gold medal in The Spirits Business‘ Gin Masters 2021 blind-tasting competition.
Gunpowder Gin is priced at £25 (US$34). For UK sales queries, email gavin@brewdogdistilling.com.
