ProWine Shanghai 2021 welcomes 15,000 visitors
By Nicola CarruthersWine and spirits trade fair ProWine Shanghai 2021 attracted more than 15,000 visitors and 450 exhibitors to the three-day event last week.

This year’s Shanghai fair took place from 9 to 11 November, welcoming exhibitors from 18 countries and regions. A total of 15,058 trade visitors attended the event, hailing from areas such as Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian, Hubei and Tianjin.
Ian Roberts, vice-president Asia at Informa Markets, said: “By holding ProWine Shanghai concurrently with China’s leading food and hospitality show, FHC, we are able to bring together all the major food and drink importers and distributors at the same time.”
This year’s fair follows on from the 2020 Shanghai show, which boasted a 9.2% increase in visitors year on year.
The next Shanghai trade show will return to the city’s New International Expo Center from 8-10 November 2022.
Michael Degen, executive director at ProWine organiser Messe Düsseldorf, said: “Hosting ProWine Shanghai 2021 as scheduled despite the ongoing Covid-19 complications fully underlines the strategic and international role of ProWine Shanghai.
“The Chinese wine and spirits market remains strong and is developing well. We believe the next edition of ProWine Shanghai will be even more promising and impressive.”
ProWine Mumbai kicks off today (17 November) for two days. It will be followed by flagship fair ProWein in Düsseldorf from 27 to 29 March in 2022.
ProWine Singapore has been moved from May 2022 to 5-8 September next year to coincide with the FHA Food & Beverage, organised by Informa Markets.
