ProWine Mumbai welcomes 2,017 visitors
The inaugural ProWine Mumbai trade show attracted more than 2,000 attendees and 200 brands from 13 countries.
ProWine Mumbai was held for the first time from 17-18 November 2021 at five-star hotel The Regis.
The event was jointly organised by trade fair organiser Messe Düsseldorf India and marketing agency All Things Nice.
The fair marked the first in-person trade event for the wine and spirits sector in India since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. The show welcomed 2,017 visitors and more than 200 brands from 70 companies.
Thomas Schlitt, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf India, said: “It fills me with joy and gratitude to see this amazing recognition from the industry stakeholders in India for the first ProWine Mumbai event.
“Going from being a ProWein educational campaign to a first-ever full-fledged comprehensive trade fair for the wine and spirits industry is the reflection of developing the market for the future growth of the industry in India.”
Visitors at ProWine Mumbai ranged from large hoteliers, restaurateurs and bar owners, importers, distributors and retailers, sommeliers, chefs, and food and beverage teams.
In the Spirits Pavilion, visitors were able to sample and meet producers of gin, vodka, single malt, rum, Tequila, craft beverages and beer.
ProWine said the highlight of the Spirits Pavilion were the innovative cocktails on offer.
Held across three exhibition halls, the show featured 15 masterclasses that showcased new trends and information covering a variety of wine and spirit categories. The masterclasses were free to attend and saw some speakers present virtually.
