Gordon’s gin gets packaging update

Diageo-owned Gordon’s gin has been given a packaging makeover with flavour and sustainability in mind.

The new bottle is made from up to 85% recycled glass and is being rolled out globally.

Furthermore, the update has been designed to emphasise the flavour of each expression and incorporates subtle taste indicators across the bottle.

Mark Jaman, global head of Gordon’s gin, said: “We are incredibly proud to launch the latest fresh and stylish design for Gordon’s gin, which builds on our rich history and familiarity whilst highlighting the taste cues and making the bottle more attractive.

“On top of the eye-catching aesthetics, this bottle is also part of our journey towards our wider sustainability targets, ensuring all packaging is widely recyclable by 2030.”

The new Gordon’s bottles are manufactured at the Cameronbridge distillery in Fife, Scotland, which is powered entirely by renewable electricity.

The update comes as part of Diageo’s Society 2030 programme, which aims to make the company more inclusive and sustainable over the next decade.

Targets include becoming carbon neutral in direct operations and ensuring all packaging is widely recyclable.

Gordon’s sold 6.7 million nine-litre cases in 2020. As the only million-case-selling gin brand in The Brand Champions 2021 report to sustain sales last year, Gordon’s was named Gin Brand Champion.
