Drinks Trust provides paid PR internship

The Drinks Trust charity has collaborated with public relations (PR) agency Domino Communications to offer a three-month internship.

The Drinks Trust’s Drinks Community and Domino PR is looking for an intern with a passion for the drinks industry and two years hospitality experience

The Drinks Community, a sub-group of professional members from industry charity The Drinks Trust, is offering a paid, three-month internship in drinks PR with Domino Communications.

It was launched for those working in hospitality or the drinks industry that have been affected by the pandemic, and are looking to gain skills in drinks PR as a potential new career move.

Ross Carter, CEO of The Drinks Trust, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Domino Communications on this internship opportunity, which is a first for The Drinks Trust and The Drinks Community.”

The scheme will provide training and guidance on how to kick-start a career in PR, as well as the chance to pick up skills in a fast-paced agency.

The chosen intern will be mentored by experienced publicists, work with influencers and develop know-how in event curating.

“It is something that we hope we will be able to carry forward into the future and in turn get as many people in the drinks industry back into work,” added Carter. “As we have all seen during the reopening of the industry, there is a real staff and skills shortage out there at the moment, and initiatives like this will be instrumental in turning that around.”

The team is seeking a candidate with passion for the drinks sector, as well as two years’ experience in the hospitality industry and a drive to share first-hand knowledge and experience with both the media and influencers.

Additional financial support is offered to candidates meeting specific requirements. Applicants are required to sign up to The Drinks Community website, and can now send their CV to info@domino-communications.com, with a closing date of 31 August.

Earlier this month, The Drinks Trust teamed up with non-profit The Burnt Chef Project to deliver ‘enhanced’ mental health support services to the UK beverage and hospitality sector.
