Blue Run Spirits unveils 14-year-old Bourbon
By Alice BrookerBourbon brand Blue Run Spirits has launched a 14-year-old expression, along with a limited release Reserve bottling.

Blue Run Kentucky Straight 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon is available from select retailers in the US.
A limited Reserve offering is also being distributed online for US-based whiskey fans through bluerunspirits.com. The Reserve bottle offers the same tasting notes as the Small Batch expression, but contains a ‘more pronounced flavouring’.
Mike Montgomery, CEO of Blue Run Spirits, said: “We are very pleased to be able to offer a special Reserve bottling of our award-winning 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon to our fans outside our current distribution states.
“Our 13.5-year-old single barrels that were released in May sold out online in minutes, so we want to thank our online customers for their voracious support of Blue Run.”
The expression has been personally approved by ‘whiskey legend’ Jim Rutledge, a former master distiller who has overseen the previous launches of the brand.
The 14-year-old Bourbon is said to have a ‘smooth and mellow flavour’, with baking spices and Anaheim pepper on the nose. The expression also offers notes of French toast and Rainier cherries, with a ‘long, sweet and dry’ finish.
Blue Run Kentucky Straight 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon can be purchased for an RRP of US$199.99, while the Reserve offering is available online for US$249.99. Both releases sit at 56.5% ABV.
