The Bartender Collective launches campaign

The Bartender Collective has launched its kickstarter campaign from today (4 June), with the aim of raising €10,000 (US$12,111) to bring premium spirits to the market.

Inspired by the closure of hospitality over the past year, The Bartender Collective aims to boost careers in hospitality, from increasing bartenders’ salaries to promoting creativity in the industry. The funds will help create premium small batch spirits designed for bartenders to include in classic cocktails.

The campaign is open until 31 July, and rewards are being offered in exchange for pledges. Investors can find more details at thebartendercollective.com.

Ginposium goes live

The 2021 Ginposium has gone live today (4 June), featuring a range of online seminars all about gin – from the science behind the spirit to its branding. Brought to the public for free by The Gin Guild, the Ginposium kicked off at 9am.

Tasting trends for 2021 will also be discussed, offering gin-lovers a head start on what to expect in the bar world this summer.

Virtual Fèis Ìle – Scotland’s Festival of Music and Malt

The much anticipated Islay Festival of Music and Malt – Fèis Ìle – is taking place this weekend online from the Scottish island.

The event gathers whisky lovers from around the world for its virtual offerings, concluding on the 6 June. Log in for tours, live tastings and storytelling.

As part of the festival, Scotch brand Ardbeg celebrates all things Ardbeg on 5 June, with events including a stillhouse tour, live tastings, a barbecue feast and a mixology class.

Bunnahabhain Distillery offers online festival tours

Islay brand Bunnahabhain will be holding online distillery tours for Fèis Ìle today (4 June), with observers getting to choose where the distillery manager virtually takes them.

Limited edition prizes will also be up for grabs as part of the extravaganza. The distillery is also holding tastings from 4pm-5pm BST today, and a Fèis Masterclass from 8pm-9pm BST.

Jura Whisky unveils unpeated single malt

Jura Single Malt whisky will launch its Distillery Cask Fèis Ìle Edition 2021 on Sunday (6 June) in celebration of the Fèis Ìle. The 57.1% ABV expression has been matured for 18 years, and only 340 bottles will be available. A portion of the profit from each bottle sold will contribute towards the Jura Music Festival taking place in September. The whisky will be available to buy online for £145 via the Jura Whisky website.

Berlin hosts international cocktail party

An international cocktail party is taking place in Berlin tomorrow (5 June), hoping to bring together guests from around the world. The event will offer a welcoming atmosphere and an array of cocktails for expats and locals.

Crazy Bubbles Bottomless Brunch

London’s Crazy Pizza Marylebone is hosting ‘Crazy Bubbles Brunch’ on Saturday (5 June). The event will include bottomless Champagne and cocktails, pizzas and entertainment for £100 (US$141) per person.

From midday until 3pm BST, the brunch will be taking place every Saturday for the rest of the year. Cocktails on offer include a sweet Tommy Sbagliato with vanilla Tequila, Dolce & Banana, and Sorrento with passion fruit and basil wine.

Singapore’s Sole Mates Gin Run is launching Sunday (6 June) and taking place until 27 June. The activity is a four kilometre scenic jog by the bay, allowing runners to enjoy the sunset and ‘work up a thirst’ for three gin pitstops – Le Noir Marina Bay Sands, Brewerkz One Fullerton, and Chimi’s for a post-exercise snack of nachos. June is about to get gintense!

Low 2 No Bev exhibition

The inaugural Low 2 No Bev show, dedicated to the low-and-no drinks sector, will be held on 9-10 June at the Truman Brewery, London. The exhibitions will present product launches, trends and advice in partnership with Brewdog.

Visitors will be able to sample the latest products, with a selection of low-and-no alcohol alternatives available across beer, wine, cider, spirits and functional drinks.

Sydney’s winter warmer event

Sydney’s Winter at Opera Bar kicks off on Thursday 10 June from 5pm, transforming into a winter destination with offers of s’mores and mulled drinks. A menu boasts a range of cocktails to keep you cosy, from a buttered rum (Barcardi spiced rum, salted butter, nutmeg and anise) to a mulled Dark and Stormy.

The event will take place 5pm-9pm every Thursday and Friday, and 12pm-10pm Saturdays and Sundays.
