Bermuda-based rum producer Bacardi has added three new flavours to its range of ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails.
Last year, Bacardi tapped into the RTD trend with the launch of its Real Rum Canned Cocktails range, featuring flavours Bacardi Lime & Soda, Limon & Lemonade and Rum Punch.
Now the brand has expanded its offering with a trio of new flavours: Bahama Mama, with orange, red berries and pineapple; Mojito, with lime and mint; and Sunset Punch, with blood orange, lemon and ginger. Each cocktail sits at 5.9% ABV, and the latter flavour is available exclusively in a new variety pack.
According to Nielsen data, the spirit-based RTD market has surged 132% in the last year. Looking to capitalise on this growth, spirits giants and independent distilleries alike have created their own canned serves.
With its new ‘tropical’ cocktails, Bacardi seeks to ‘differentiate itself’ from these competitors. Maria Galis, marketing director for Bacardi North America, said: “We’re confident that our new Bacardi Real Rum Cocktails will continue to appeal to discerning drinkers who are looking for high quality canned cocktails made with natural flavours and real ingredients.
“With the new variety pack offering the special Sunset Punch flavour, we’re especially pleased to offer consumers a range of irresistible flavours in one pack, no additional bar tools required.”
The Bahama Mama and Mojito flavours are available in four packs of 355ml cans for an RRP of US$12.99. Meanwhile, a variety pack of all three new flavours retails for US$16.99.
