The third Vinexpo Shanghai fair is due to take place from 20 to 22 October 2021 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

This autumn, Vinexpo Shanghai will unveil a global business platform to ‘ramp up’ spirits participation through a range of local and international products.

The 2021 event will be the Vinexposium group’s first physical event since the beginning of the pandemic in China. Last year’s Vinexpo Shanghai fair was held digitally.

Vinexposium CEO Rodolphe Lameyse said: “We are delighted that the return of Vinexpo Shanghai in a physical format will enable us to once again bring together wine and spirits players at an event that will focus on tastings and the engagement with others that we have all sorely missed.

“As the crisis draws to an end due to the vaccination programme, it marks the resumption of alluring growth dynamics in China, where the market offers strong prospects for value creation over the next five years.”

This year’s fair will also showcase a range of products ‘geared to market recovery’.

Vinexpo said its Shanghai show has received ‘great interest’ from the industry since its launch in 2019.

The Vinexposium group ‘strengthened’ its footing in the city by opening an office in Shanghai. The move allowed the organiser to introduce promotions tailored specifically to China.

In January 2020, wine and spirits trade show Vinexpo partnered with global event organiser Comexposium to create a joint venture dedicated to the drinks industry.

Vinexposium will divide wine and spirits into two new trade events in the US next year.
