Mainbrace Rum sponsors Falmouth Sailing Week
Cornwall-based brand Mainbrace Rum has partnered with the Port of Falmouth Sailing Association to sponsor a new seafaring race during August.
The collaboration will include the sponsorship of the new Mainbrace Rum Race for the Carrick fleet during the Falmouth Sailing Week on 11 August 2021. The week-long event is held from 7 to 15 August.
The Port of Falmouth Sailing Association is a non-profit organisation responsible for organising, running and promoting sailing in the English coastal town.
Richard Haigh, Mainbrace Rum co-founder, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Carrick Race during Falmouth Sailing Week this year, and very much looking forward to joining in on the festivities in Cornwall.”
Mainbrace said the partnership was ‘natural’ as the brand’s name comes from the marine term ‘splice the mainbrace’.
Mainbrace will give a bottle of its rum to all first place winners of the race, and additional prizes for those taking the second and third-place spots.
The brand will also set up a bar at the competitor’s reception and the skipper’s briefing on Saturday 7 August.
Mainbrace is a blend of Guyanese rum and agricole rum from Martinique.
