The Rock backs bars with $1m Teremana campaign
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has pledged to donate up to US$1 million to the on-trade through his Teremana Tequila brand via a new campaign.
From 1 May to 5 May, consumers who visit bars and restaurants, and order guacamole with any Teremana Tequila cocktail will be reimbursed for their avocado-based dip by Johnson.
The Guac on The Rock campaign was created to encourage patrons to drink and dine out however they feel most comfortable – indoors or outdoors, or ordering food and drinks to-go – to help support the on-trade following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Johnson said: “No better way to celebrate my 397th birthday than with all of us helping our favourite local restaurants get back on their feet, all while drinking some Teremana and enjoying our favourite guacamole.
“I want to help get people safely back into our restaurants, bars and hotels. This is an industry close to my heart and one who normally gives all of us so much support year-round.
“These people need our help and support to get back in business. Let’s go help them out, enjoy some amazing drinks and food and say thank you for all they do. And let everyone know that the guac’s on The Rock.”
Consumers aged over 21 who purchase a Teremana Tequila cocktail and guacamole will be reimbursed up to US$10. To find out which bars and restaurants are serving Teremana, visit teremana.com.
Last month, ultra-premium Teremana Tequila made its debut in Canada.
This was soon followed by the launch of the brand’s merchandise, with proceeds to be donated to the hospitality industry.
