Labrenta opens US office

Italian closures manufacturer Labrenta has opened a new office in New Jersey, US, in a bid to expand its presence internationally.

Labrenta selected Jersey City in New Jersey as the location for its new office due to its proximity to New York City and to whiskey-producing states such as Tennessee, Wisconsin, Kentucky and North Carolina. The site was opened at the end of 2020 and has two sales employees, with more workers to follow.

Labrenta also opened the US office due to the owning family’s historical connection to the States.

Francesco Tagliapietra, grandfather of Labrenta owners Gianni, Amerigo and Franca Tagliapietra, headed to the US in 1915 to build his fortune. After the First World War, Francesco Tagliapietra went back to Wisconsin, where he founded a small spirits distillery.

“This is the closing of a circle, a kind of back to the roots for our family,” said Amerigo Tagliapietra, Labrenta sales manager. “Thanks to the Labrenta presence in the States, moreover, we will have the chance to develop other markets and wave together new and stimulating relationships.

“We were already operating in the United States, but opening an office on site is certainly one more step towards further expansion of our business.”

Founded in 1971, Labrenta operates production facilities in Italy, Mexico and Brazil. Labrenta said production plans at its Mexican branch in Guadalajara for 2021 have already doubled compared to 2020.
