Distillery 291 names wholesale sales and marketing VP

Colorado-based Distillery 291 has appointed Hannah Thomas as its new vice president of wholesale sales and marketing.

Hannah Thomas has been named wholesale sales and marketing vice president at Distillery 291

Thomas, a Colorado native, previously worked with US drinks wholesaler Breakthru Beverage Group, where she represented the Diageo and Moët Hennessy portfolios. Thomas also has extensive experience in the on-trade and previously managed a number of venues, alongside James Beard award-winning chefs.

She said: “Distillery 291’s motto, ‘hard made the Colorado way’, truly resonates with me. It represents my journey as a woman in whiskey and what I had to do to get here.

“I am thrilled about the opportunity that we have at 291, as we expand into new channels and new markets – in the US and internationally.

“I can’t wait to bring 291 Colorado Whiskey to new friends and old friends throughout the industry, by doing what I love to do – sharing whiskey with anybody who will have a drink with me.”

Thomas will step into the role immediately and, alongside her work in sales and marketing, has committed herself to enhancing the visibility of women in all aspects of the spirits business.

Michael Myers, founding distiller and CEO of Distillery 291, said: “We’re honoured to have Hannah on our growing team.

“She came to us as a friend while seeking industry advice towards the end of 2020. We realised she was the missing piece and we believe she will help propel both our brand and Colorado whiskey as a category. We’re firing on all cylinders now.”

Last year, the Colorado-based distillery announced its move into a new production facility, which will more than double its capacity.
