New low-ABV botanical blend Mary launches
By Melita KielyLondon startup Illogical Drinks has released a low-calorie, low-alcohol botanical blend, called Mary.
Low-alcohol and low-calorie botanical blend Mary is bottled at 6% ABVThe new release aims to tap into the increasing number of health-conscious consumers who are looking to lower their alcohol intake.
Bottled at 6% ABV, Mary has only nine calories per 25ml serve. The product is sugar-free, suitable for vegans and contains no carbohydrates.
Mary is made from ‘sustainably sourced’ plants, including basil, thyme and sage, and is recommended served with tonic water.
Eric Sampers, managing director of Illogical Drinks and former Pernod Ricard Beefeater Gin brand director, said: “There are a lot of pressures in today’s world. People are making lifestyle changes – including what they are drinking.
“So far, many new drink options are focused on zero alcohol, but not everyone wants to become teetotallers or have a full-strength drink. Some people want to simply moderate how much alcohol they put into their bodies and balance their lifestyle – but most of all they want to feel good about their choices.
“We wanted to offer something different. At 6% ABV and nine calories per 25ml, there is no one like us out there. As the world gets back to a new normal, we wanted to release Mary now so that drinkers have another option – in between full-strength and zero alcohol.”
