ELLC creates B2B drinks distribution service

East London Liquor Company (ELLC) has launched a new business-to-business drinks distribution model and secured a listing with restaurant chain Honest Burgers.

ELLC’s products will be available across Honest Burger’s restaurants in the UK

The east London-based distiller said the new model aims to support casual dining operators and takeaway restaurants that have been closed during England’s second Covid-19 lockdown. The lockdown began on 5 November and is due to end on 2 December.

ELLC’s director of brand and development, James Law, said: “Like the best ideas, this one is so simple, it’s almost embarrassing to announce it as a new distribution model but I can’t find anyone else who’s doing it this way.

“It just removes all the friction and allows us to take our award-winning spirits to a much wider audience. It only took us two days to build the site, you’ve got to be scrappy and entrepreneurial when the world has flipped on its axis.”

Operators can visit ELLC’s online store to order the distiller’s range of canned cocktails and vodka-based seltzers. The drinks are expected to be delivered in three days.

The new model also allows cans to be delivered in cases through a parcel delivery service at a low cost, without the need to fill in forms or pass a credit check.

In addition, ELLC’s products will be listed nationally in British restaurant operator Honest Burgers.

Law added: “Getting a national listing with Honest Burgers has been one of the highlights of a really tough year. We’re huge fans of their burgers and love the way they support local and independent companies in all of their restaurants.

“It was this listing that made me think that there must be another way to supply all the quality operators across the UK where direct-to-home deliveries via Deliveroo and the likes has become so well embedded over the last five years.”

Last month, The Spirits Business spoke to ELLC founder Alex Wolpert about his aspirations for the company.
