De Kuyper creates Fizzy Favourites RTDs

Dutch producer De Kuyper has unveiled three new ready-to-drink products made with its namesake liqueurs.

The Fizzy Favourites range consists of three “light, fruity-fresh and fizzy” products

The new Fizzy Favourites range consists of three canned products: Fizzy Strawberry, Fizzy Passionfruit and Fizzy Watermelon. The ready-to-drink (RTD) variants come in a 250ml slimline can with an ABV of 4.5%.

Each expression combines a De Kuyper liqueur with sparkling water and citrus fruit. The range is made with three fruit-flavoured De Kuyper liqueurs: Wild Strawberry, Passionfruit and Watermelon.

Following the “success” of the canned Fizzy Peachtree RTD, De Kuyper unveiled the three new “light, fruity-fresh and fizzy” expressions.

De Kuyper said the new range taps into the trend for high quality, convenience and low-alcohol. In July this year, De Kuyper CEO Mark de Witte told SB about the company’s plans to tap into the low- and no-alcohol space and modernise the liqueur category. He noted there will be several innovations to come from the company in early 2021.

According to CGA Mixed Drinks Q3 2019 UK data cited by De Kuyper, 54% of consumers purchased pre-mixed drinks and 46% drink either non-alcoholic or low-ABV cocktails. Furthermore, the research found that the most popular taste profiles in the on- and off-trade are: refreshing, berry, citrus, fruity, sweet and fizzy.

The Fizzy Favourites range is targeted at consumers aged between 18 and 40.

“Next to our heritage, innovation is key for us. With innovative drink concepts such as Fizzy Favourites we intend to enhance and democratise the liqueur category and to make cocktails more accessible,” said de Witte. “This trend-setting serve is our answer to rising consumer trends such as convenience, low-ABV and fruity-fresh Spritz drinks.”

Each variant is recommended served chilled straight from the fridge or over ice in a glass.

The RTDs are priced at RSP €1.99 (US$2.35) per 250ml can. The range will be rolled out globally from November 2020, initially in the UK, China and the Netherlands.
