Amorim Top Series celebrates 10 years

As the Amorim Group celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2020, Amorim Top Series is marking 10 years since it launched.

Amorim Top Series is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year

In 2010, Corticeira Amorim developed a range of luxury capsulated stoppers made from natural cork, called Top Series. That same year, the brand’s Prestige cork stoppers were selected to adorn the Dalmore Trinitas 64 Scotch whisky.

Amorim Top Series’ Prestige stoppers were also chosen to seal Gordon& MacPhail’s 70-year-old Mortlach that same year.

By 2012, the Amorim Top Series website had been completed. The following year, Amorim Top Series stoppers were certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). The FSC seal can be found in all of Amorim’s collections of cork stoppers, including the Top Series range.

New distribution agreements in 2015 helped Amorim Top Series to further its local presence, including deals with Gaasch Packaging for the Scottish market, Moscow-based firm Rusvinpack in Russia, Acusticos & Sellantes in Mexico, Four Trees Inteligéncia & Valor in Brazil, and Enotech in Poland.

Later that year, the brand released a new promotional video, called Top Series – Luxury by Nature.

In 2016, customisation was made possible with the launch of the brand’s Freedecor service, a printing technology for capsulated stoppers that can print any design or image on the stopper.

Furthermore, the Whitetop stoppers were released, created specifically for white spirits.

Amorim Top Series’ smart new logo

In 2017, the purchase and integration of Sodiliège within Amorim Top Series helped the development of the brand’s activity and proximity in one of its core markets for spirits: France.

The following year welcomed the launch of new capsulated stoppers with eye-catching pink designs in response to trends in the spirits market. In 2018, Amorim Top Series also launched its 100% sustainable capsulated stoppers, which use bio-based polymers made exclusively from renewable and/or biodegradable sources.

In 2019, the Amorim Top Series website offered the Inspiration Box to allow clients to test hundreds of potential products from the brand’s Design Centre. It was also the year that the 100% wooden stoppers were launched.

In addition, Amorim Top Series launched the Tap series – a line of smart stoppers with integrated microchips, which included information that could be accessed using near field technology (NFC).

In 2020, its anniversary year, Amorim Top Series has continued to develop numerous stoppers, which are still used by leading brands, including expressions from Elijah Craig Bourbon.
