Spirit Master: Cap Gin

The weather in the UK is set to soar this weekend creating the perfect summer setting for a refreshing G&T. If you’re looking for a new brand to sample, Cap Gin could be just the ticket.

Cap Gin was inspired by the Côte d’Azur

The sheer volume of brands in the gin category can make choosing a new expression to try somewhat overwhelming. That’s where our Global Spirits Masters series comes into play.

In this year’s Gin Masters blind-tasting competition, Cap Gin secured a Gold medal in the Premium category, plus a second Gold in the London Dry flight.

The gin is a traditional London Dry style, made with nine botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica root, mimosa, pink peppercorns, orange blossom, lemon peel, rose and orange peel.

Judges described Cap Gin as “bright, floral and fruity, complex and luxurious” with “good mixing potential”.

Additional tasting notes included “bold character with a little residual warmth, and some lovely fruity notes too – succulent”.

Cap Gin is the brainchild of three friends who live in the South of France. The trio aimed to create a gin to celebrate the history, heritage and architecture of the Côte d’Azur.

Bottled at 43% ABV, Cap Gin is available to purchase via Amazon, or for orders of more than two bottles, visit capgin.com.
