Flor de Caña’s Sustainable Talk

On Monday (8 June) at 10pm SGT, Nicaraguan rum Flor de Caña will host the latest instalment in its Sustainable Talks series.

Hosted by Luis Baez, global brand ambassador for Flor de Caña, the discussion will feature Vijay Mudaliar, founder of sustainable bar Native in Singapore.

Softer Side Sessions

For the latest instalment in its Softer Side Session series of talks, Scotch whisky brand Tomatin will welcome its master distiller Graham Eunson.

Streaming on the brand’s Youtube channel tonight (5 June) at 9pm BST, Eunson will discuss Tomatin’s five distillery exclusive single casks and explain why he selected each cask and how the individual cask types showcase different sides of the Tomatin spirit.

Several fellow whisky enthusiasts will also join the conversation.

67 Pall Mall – Adelphi Selection

Tonight (5 June) at 8pm BST, 67 Pall Mall will host an online masterclass featuring a tasting of Adelphi whiskies.

On Zoom, Connal Mackenzie and Alex Bruce will present single cask whiskies from Speyside and Islay, a look into Ardnamurchan Distillery with the 2018/AD Spirit and showcase one of their Fusion whiskies – The Kincardine, which is a blend of Indian single malt and Scotch single malt whiskies.

A Highland Fling virtual tasting

Today (5 June) at 9pm BST, The Whisky Lounge will host ‘A Highland Fling’ virtual tasting, featuring whiskies from the Scottish Highlands.

The event will feature drams from Balbair and Old Pultney and will be hosted by Lukasz Dynowiak, global brand ambassador for single malt whiskies at International Beverage.

Dynowiak will take whisky fans through the production processes, followed by a tasting and a Q&A session.

Beginner Photography Animation

Today (5 June) at 11am-1pm AEST, Australian photographer Christopher Pearce will host a live-streamed crash course on creating photography animation by running through the fundamentals and techniques.

Pearce has worked with a number of food and drink clients including Bacardi-Martini Australia, Bombay Sapphire, Grey Goose, Dewar’s, Monin, Red Bull and Bartender Magazine.

The New Normal for Spirits Sellers

Distillery 291 and online wholesale alcohol distributor, Lib Dib, have collaborated on a new series of online virtual conferences specifically designed to help American alcohol retailers navigate the Covid-19 pandemic.

The six one-hour online conferences provide an opportunity for operators in the alcohol industry to get insights and advice from business leaders and experts.

The free one-hour events all start at 2pm ET/11am PT, and include a Q&A session.

Nightcap Live

Every Thursday at 7pm EST, subscription spirits service Flaviar hosts its Nightcap Live series featuring special guests, including actors, comedians and entrepreneurs, as well as a spirits expert.

Hosted by Dan Dunn of the What We’re Drinking podcast, the weekly series aims to educate existing and aspiring spirit enthusiasts around the world

Yesterday (4 June), Dunn was joined by actor Aisha Tyler (pictured), who talked about her ready-to-drink cocktail brand Courage + Stone. Consumers can catch up on the episodes, plus others in the series, on Flaviar’s Facebook page.

Other guests who have featured on the series include director Steven Soderbergh, who discussed his Bolivian spirit brand Singani 63, and rapper Chevy Woods.

Full Hands In, Full Hands Out

 

Every Monday at 12pm CST, Tales of the Cocktail (TOTC) hosts a weekly webinar, called Full Hands In, Full Hands Out, which bring together leaders in the drinks industry to discuss difficult subjects affecting the on-trade community.

The next webinar, ‘Phase II for Businesses’, will feature Holly Graham of Drink Magazine Asia, Elliot Ball from The Cocktail Trading Company, and bartender Danil Nevsky. They trio will discuss how bar events, media, owners and freelancers are dealing with the pandemic during this next phase.

Diageo World Class Community Week

Diageo’s World Class Community Week brings together the on-trade across the globe through a series of online workshops.

Led by Diageo’s global cocktailian, Lauren Mote, each week brings together bartenders and Diageo brand ambassadors for business tips, masterclass tutorials and panel discussions. Every week will see a different industry topic covered, along with online training from leading bartenders.

The World Class Community Week programme kicked off in April and has launched in Northern Europe, Italy, Canada, Australia, Great Britain and Russia.

From 1 to 5 June, the series will head to the US, followed by Central America and the Caribbean from 9-11 June. Visit the World Class website for more information.

Art of Italicus 2020

Italian aperitivo brand Italicus launched a new virtual art competition this week in partnership with Moniker Art Fair.

The Art of Italicus 2020 competition invites both new and established artists, illustrators, graphic designers and painters from across the world under the age of 35 to take part in the challenge, by creating a digital artwork that represents the heritage, flavour and experience of Italicus, as well as the brand’s Italian roots.

In addition to a cash prize, the top three winners will receive a trip with two-nights accommodation to a global brand event next year to exhibit their work.
