Drinks Trust fundraising passes £1 million

Industry charity The Drinks Trust has raised more than £1 million (US$1.2m) to support those who have been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis.

Raised through the charity’s Your Round, Help Your Trade campaign, more than £650,000 (US$815,000) came from donations and fundraising initiatives, while the remaining £350,000 (US$438,000) came from business partners renewing donations, or renewing at higher levels.

The Drinks Trust has promised to continue supporting more than 350 ongoing beneficiaries, many of whom are among the most at-risk groups in regards to the pandemic.

Furthermore, the charity has completed its Covid-19 Emergency Grant fund, which has been able to give 1,750 beneficiaries a one-off financial grant of £250 (US$313). The money was given to primarily to those who have experienced a loss of earnings as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

Ross Carter, CEO of The Drinks Trust, said: “We are so grateful to absolutely everyone who has responded so quickly at this difficult time.

“We hope to work with you all on an ongoing basis to ensure that we continue to provide support for all drinks industry professionals. The Drinks Trust supports drinks industry people.”
