Netflix and Swill with Bruichladdich

This evening (17 April), Islay distillery Bruichladdich will hold a Netflix and Swill watch party through the Netflix Party browser extension.

Viewers can tune into Monty Python’s Life of Brian from 7.30pm BST and enjoy a whisky with the Scotch brand. Once the Netflix Party extension has been downloaded, Bruichladdich will send a URL to join the party, where comments can be posted while watching the film.

After the film, viewers can join Bruichladdich on Instagram for a live Q&A.

Jameson Hosts

Jameson Irish whiskey kicked off its new Jameson Hosts on-trade platform this week with a series of videos from bartenders across the globe on its Instagram page (@JamesonHosts).

Yesterday (16 April), Jens Dalhberg and Niklas Sewén, of Tak bar in Stockholm, Sweden, shared their process for creating homemade kombucha as a healthy, alcoholic-free alternative for customers from leftover waste.

The French Corner

Every Friday, South London venue The French Corner will live-stream its bar experience, The Initiative, with a DJ set from 8pm to 10pm BST.

With music from DJ Danandout, The French Corner experience can be enjoyed alongside a package of drinks available for delivery from the Deli Cat & Sons store, with prices starting from £35 (US$43.50). Drinks offerings on the menu include a Bumbu Stay at Home package, a McQueen and The Violet Fog Gin Survival package and a Portobello Gin Pack. Pre-mixed cocktails and bottles of wine are also available for delivery.

Will Lowe and Tristan Welch

From 7pm BST this evening (17 April), English chef Tristan Welch, of Cambridge restaurant Parker’s Tavern, will catch up with Will Lowe, master distiller of Cambridge Distillery, through an Instagram Live session (@parkers_tavern). The session will delve into the beginnings of gin producer Cambridge Distillery.

Today (17 April) at 2pm BST, Diageo Reserve’s global cocktailian, Lauren Mote, will host a webinar with Gemma Duff and Julian Short on how to engage with your customers online.

Ready Steady Cuervo

Jose Cuervo Tequila’s new Instagram series Ready Steady Cuervo seeks to help people enjoy bar-quality cocktails at home.

The bi-weekly show will feature two guests from the world of mixology as they create Tequila-based cocktails using Jose Cuervo Especial and everyday ingredients found in many people’s kitchens.

After each episode, the cocktail recipes will be shared on Jose Cuervo’s social media channels. Followers will also have the chance to enter a competition to win a year’s supply of Tequila.

Ready Steady Cuervo can be viewed by visiting Jose Cuervo’s Instagram page (@JoseCuervoUK) at 7pm BST on Tuesdays and Thursdays in April.

The Greatest Brunch

Sing along to your favourite tunes from the comfort of your own home with The Greatest Brunch show. The live-streamed event will feature special guests from some of the biggest West End shows. Have your cocktails and brunch at the ready for the event, which takes place this Saturday from 2pm to 3pm BST. Tickets are priced at £7.50 (US$9.30).

Mindful Happy Hour

Camille Vidal, founder of La Maison Wellness, will host a Mindful Happy Hour today (17 April) at 5pm BST live on the La Maison Wellness Instagram page.

Vidal will kick off the weekend with a mindful cocktail made with non-alcoholic spirit Lyre’s, with the aim of bringing positive vibes to consumers’ lives during lockdown.

The Booze Brain

At 4pm BST today (17 April), Lars Williams, co-founder of Copenhagen-based Empirical Spirits, will feature on episode 15 of The Booze Brain on Instagram (@theboozebrain).

Williams will give viewers insight into his experimental Danish distillery, the technique behind its products and brand development.

Smokehead TV

This Sunday (19 April) at 5pm BST, Smokehead whisky will present the second episode in its Smokehead TV series on Instagram Live (@Smokeheadwhisky).

Mikey Sim, Smokehead global brand ambassador, will be joined by Gaz Jones, of Coca-Cola Signature Mixers, to present top tracks with cocktail tributes.

Smokehead is also donating £1 (US$1.25) from the sale of each bottle purchased from its website to The Drinks Trust charity to support hospitality colleagues during the covid-19 pandemic.
