By Melita KielyThe Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has revealed a series of changes to its 2020 World Exhibition and Conference, including free registration for all delegates and a number of discounted offers.
The TFWA World Exhibition and Conference takes place in Cannes each year
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, TFWA has announced several updates to its planned World Exhibition and Conference in Cannes, France, which is set to take place from 28 September to 2 October this year.
Delegates will receive free registration, regardless of their sector of business, and the full programme will be reviewed and given a most business-centric focus.
Furthermore, per-m2 charges to exhibitors will be reduced by 30%, hotel rates will be “significantly reduced” with full details to be announced in due course, and rates for other services are also under review.
Alain Maingreaud, TFWA president, said: “This crisis is undoubtedly the most severe our industry has ever faced, and we know that 2020 will prove an exceptionally tough year for all our members and partners.
“The steps we are taking are designed to help our exhibitors and visitors, and to ensure we can provide the event our industry needs to recover and regroup.”
Last month, the TFWA cancelled its Asia Pacific Exhibition and Conference in Singapore following “widespread concern” over the coronavirus outbreak.
