Teeling backs frontline staff with charity whiskey

Irish whiskey producer Teeling has released a limited edition bottling from its Distillery Exclusive range, with all proceeds earmarked for charities supporting frontline workers during the covid-19 pandemic.

Teeling whiskey has created a charity bottling, the brand’s first aged in Irish virgin oak

The charity expression is the first Teeling whiskey that was matured in Irish virgin oak casks and will be limited to just 300 bottles.

Each bottle has been hand-filled, labelled with the initiative and individually numbered.

Bottled at 48.5% ABV, The Front Lines Heroes special release is available to purchase online now via the Celtic Whiskey Shop for RRP €75 (US$82). It is said to have a “unique, rich, cream and honey” flavour.

Jack Teeling, founder and managing director of Teeling whiskey, said: “This is a very difficult time for everyone, but none more than the people at the front line of the battle against covid-19.

“From the people caring for our elderly, vulnerable community to those in the trenches in hospitals around the country, we wanted to do something to support in some way.

“We chose Teeling whiskey aged in Irish oak to reinforce and reflect our national strength of character and deep roots, as we work together to take the necessary, hard steps to tackle the crisis we find ourselves in.

“We are truly thankful for the sacrifices people are making on a daily basis and this release is just a small gesture of our appreciation for these true frontline heroes through the various charities we have chosen to support.”

The charity release follows Teeling whiskeys that were matured in a range of wood types, including chestnut casks, Hungarian virgin oak and chinquapin American white oak.
