Michael Jordan’s Cincoro Tequila donates to USBG
By Nicola CarruthersCincoro Tequila, part-owned by former basketball star Michael Jordan, is donating 30% of online sales to the United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) to support on-trade members affected by coronavirus.
Michael Jordan (pictured centre) launched Cincoro Tequila last yearIn September 2019, Jordan partnered with Jeanie Buss of the Los Angeles Lakers, Wes Edens of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Emilia Fazzalari and Wyc Grousbeck of the Boston Celtics to develop Cincoro Tequila.
The Tequila is now available for online purchase and home delivery in the US through a partnership with e-commerce company Thirstie.
Cincoro’s four expressions, Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and Extra Añejo, are available to buy through the brand’s website.
To celebrate the partnership, Cincoro has joined the #TipYourBartenders campaign, pledging 30% of all proceeds from online orders until 1 May to the United States Bartenders’ Guild Emergency Assistance Program.
It follows a similar move by actor Ryan Reynolds, who is also donating 30% of online sales of Aviation Gin to the USBG until 1 May.
The USBG and the USBG National Charity Foundation are currently raising funds to provide financial support for industry workers who have lost income due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Cincoro is available for delivery to residents of California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Texas, and nine other states across the country. The brand is also offering free shipping on every order of US$100 or more with the code CINCORO100, ending 1 May.
