JJ Corry to blend crowd-sourced Irish whiskey

Irish whiskey bonder JJ Corry is offering fans the chance to have their say on what goes into the company’s next blend, which will be called The Lock In.

Louise McGuane, JJ Corry founder

The crowd-sourced blend will be made as part of JJ Corry’s new online Crowd Sourced Blending initiative.

Members of the public can sign up to the JJ Corry Irish whiskey mailing list online at jjcorry.com for more details on how to apply to be part of the process.

Successful applicants will be sent samples of proposed blends and will be able to vote on the direction they would like the blend to go in. They will also be consulted on the label design.

Once all the votes have been cast, The Lock In whiskey will be scaled up during an online live stream so consumers are given total transparency over the production process.

The Lock In whiskey will be made commercially available once it is ready.

Louise McGuane, founder, said: “I’ve watched with fascination as the global whisky community has taken to sharing drams and stories online whilst in isolation.

“We have a community of dedicated JJ Corry fans and normally we get to meet with them in person as we travel the world telling our story.

“That’s not possible right now, so instead we are bringing our blending process into their living rooms and engaging with our fans by getting them directly involved in the blending process.”
