Scottish distiller Eden Mill has launched its Original Gin in a limited edition blue ceramic design and will donate £2 (US$2.50) from every bottle sold to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).

Based in St Andrews, Eden Mill will initially donate proceeds to Masks 4 NHS Heroes, a crowdfunding effort set up by frontline NHS doctors to help raise money for personal protective equipment (PPE) during the coronavirus pandemic.

Eden Mill CEO Paul Miller said: “By creating 5,000 limited edition blue bottles of our Original Gin we hope to raise £10,000 [US$12,444] in the coming months to donate to NHS charities and projects.

“We have chosen Masks 4 NHS Heroes to receive the first donation because the provision of personal protection equipment is so essential for NHS staff.

“We are so proud and thankful for all of our healthcare heroes doing incredible work at this time to save lives and battle this virus. We hope this can make even a small difference.”

Eden Mill Original Gin is made from botanicals including lemon balm and seabuckthorn berries from Fife in Scotland.

The 700ml bottles are available to buy from Eden Mills’ website for RRP £30 (US$37.30). The bottles can also be collected from the distillery in Guardbridge, St Andrews.

In addition, Eden Mill is giving NHS staff a 25% discount and free delivery on all purchases on site.
