Angostura creates House Lock Down series

Rum and bitters producer Angostura has launched its House Lock Down social media campaign to offer moral support to the global bar community.

Angostura House Lock Down will be hosted by its network of brand ambassadors

The House of Angostura has partnered with distributor Artisan Spirits and its global brand ambassador network to launch the campaign, which will air on Instagram at 5pm CET Monday to Friday.

Hosted by Angostura global brand ambassador Daniyel Jones, the series will offer positive thinking tips, fitness techniques and guest appearances.

During the Sip n’ Chill segment of each episode, guests will share their bartending experiences, favourite drinks and will answer questions submitted via Instagram Live.

Every Friday, the House Lock Down series will also welcome a mystery guest, not one of the brand’s ambassadors but an “industry icon with a close relationship to the House of Angostura”.

As part of the House Lock Down series, up-and-coming bartenders will be able to share their homemade cocktail recipes to be in with the chance to win one of three virtual home mixology masterclass sessions. Winners can then choose to host a live watch party with friends and family.

The initiative, which launched on 30 March, aims to recognise “the troubles and challenges which the world is currently enduring” while bringing “its own joy and liquid sunshine” into the homes of the global on-trade community.

As bartenders and drinkers are forced indoors as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the industry has responded with a host of digital workshops and classes to keep people entertained. Find out about more online offerings from the on-trade here.
