Martin Miller’s Gin appoints global marketing head

Spanish drinks group Zamora Company has promoted Robert Eastham to the position of global sales and marketing director for Martin Miller’s Gin.

Robert Eastham has been named global sales and marketing director for Martin Miller’s Gin

Eastham first joined Zamora Company as W&N Europe region director, wines and spirits, in 2013. In this role, he was responsible for managing the group’s wine and spirits portfolio, including Licor 43 and Villa Massa.

Previously, Eastham had worked for Cognac de Luze and Rémy Cointreau in senior international commercial and marketing positions.

Speaking to The Spirits Business last week, Eastham said: “One thing we want to change is offering Martin Miller’s Gin as an experience brand.

“Martin Miller’s Gin transformed the gin category when it launched 20 years ago, and this signposted a new wave of high quality gin, which became known as the ‘gin renaissance’.

“I will be focusing on the power of transformation to define the re-positioning of Martin Miller’s Gin in the premium spirit market through our global communications platform.”

Martin Miller’s Gin is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and as part of its plans to mark the milestone occasion, the brand will release its first seasonal expression in May: Martin Miller’s Summerful Gin.

The limited edition gin will be available to purchase from May to September in select retailers throughout the UK, including Waitrose.

It is made from Martin Miller’s Gin’s twin-distilled original blend, which is followed by third distillation with botanicals including Arctic thyme and rosemary.

“[Summerful Gin] was designed to bring additional experience to the gin consumer,” Eastham explained. “We produced something we think traditional consumers will totally endorse.

“We will be presenting this liquid to consumers through our off-trade partners, but also through on-trade summer terrace activations.”

Zamora Company has also appointed long-serving global specialist Arturo Illán as Martin Miller’s Gin global brand manager.

Illán moves to Martin Miller’s Gin from Yellow Rose Whiskey, which is also owned by Zamora Company.

Both Eastham and Illán will be based out of Madrid, Spain, and will report to Jacob Ehrenkrona, CEO of Martin Miller’s Gin.
