Don Q Rum given packaging overhaul

Destilería Serrallés partnered with design company Stranger and Stranger to revamp the logo and packaging for Don Q Rum.

Don Q Rum has been given a packaging redesign

The new look aims to highlight Don Q’s brand values by using modern, minimalistic and classic elements.

Ivan Bell, CEO of Stranger and Stranger, said: “After visiting the distillery, meeting the family and immersing ourselves in the culture of Puerto Rico, we embraced and focused on the concept of passion for this brand.

“We needed to bring this to life in the packaging and marry those values to the story of Don Q Rum, to create a brand that will exude passion and pride for Ponce [the city where Destilería Serrallés is located] and all of Puerto Rico.”

The new design features an elongated, transparent glass bottle. It will be available from April 2020 in supermarkets, liquor stores and specialist trade locations, hotels and restaurants in the US.

Philippe Brechot, president and CEO of Destilería Serrallés, said: “We are very excited with this new design and to have worked closely with Stranger and Stranger to integrate our consumers’ preferences from Puerto Rico and other markets.

“With consumers increasingly favouring brands that are authentic, proud of their heritage and of a unique quality, we believe our new image captures Don Q’s brand excellence, its core values and the essence of Puerto Rico.

“As we honour our 155th anniversary, we proudly embrace this new phase that will continue to expand Don Q’s footprint globally.”
