Tomatin unveils TR-exclusive 21YO Scotch
By Owen BellwoodHighland Scotch brand Tomatin has launched a travel retail-exclusive 21-year-old whisky, matured in ex-Bourbon barrels.
Tomatin 21 Year Old has matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casksPriced at €175 (US$190), the 21-year-old Scotch joins the brand’s travel retail-exclusive 8 Year Old, 12 Year Old, 15 Year Old and 40 Year Old whiskies.
Graham Nicolson, sales director at Tomatin, said: “Our travel retail range has won dozens of awards over the years, and I’m confident that the 21 Year Old will perform incredibly well across the globe.
“Between 2018/19, we experienced a massive growth of over 70%, and thanks to exciting releases like the 21 Year Old, we’re expecting continued growth in this sector in 2020.”
Tomatin 21 Year Old matured for more than two decades in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks. The non-chill-filtered whisky is said to have aromas of “soft topical fruits complemented by warm flavours of freshly baked croissant”. On the palate it has flavours of apple and sweet honey.
Bottled at 46% ABV, Tomatin’s new 21 Year Old is sold in 700ml bottles and will be available at selected airports across the globe, including Amsterdam, Istanbul and Sydney.
