Gymkhana to reopen following fire

Michelin-starred Indian restaurant and bar Gymkhana will reopen this month after closing for refurbishment following a fire last year.

Gymkhana will reopen on 18 February with new food and cocktail offerings

The London venue has undergone a complete interior redesign and will open on 18 February – complete with a new cocktail menu.

Gymkhana’s interior has been refurbished under the watchful eye of Samuel Hosker, design director at JKS Restaurants, whose portfolio includes Gymkhana, Brigadiers and Bao to name just a few.

The revamped ground floor and bar feature jade green tones, dark timber and metallic accents, combined with printed fabrics.

Meanwhile, the basement bar will be re-modelled for a “convivial club lounge feel”, with peach and red accents, and graphic Indian carpeting.

The cocktail menu has also been completely overhauled, designed to showcase Indian ingredients and flavour combinations. The collection of Club Cocktails will offer an Indian interpretation on classic recipes.

Drinks include the Peach Blow Fizz, made with green mango and tropical citrus flavours, paired with Tanqueray gin, frozen yoghurt, egg white and soda; and the House Martini, inspired by the original dirty Martini and garnished with an olive brine poppadum.

Gin fans can also sample the new pink gin and tonic list, served with Gymkhana’s own tonic water.

The new gin flavour map will help guests pair each gin with ingredients and garnishes unique to different Indian regions. There is also an extensive list of Indian whiskies on offer.
