‘World’s first’ jackfruit-flavoured vodka launches
By Owen BellwoodUS-based MBF Company Brands has launched the “world’s first” jackfruit-flavoured vodka to tap into “millennials’ sense of uniqueness”.
Slapjack Vodka is distilled from corn and flavoured with jackfruit
Distilled six times from a mashbill comprising 100% corn, Slapjack is filtered three times before being flavoured with natural jackfruit.
Slapjack Vodka is described as being “smooth, juicy and tropical”. The vodka is said to have “flavours of mango, banana, pineapple, orange and peach”.
The expression is suggested served chilled by itself or mixed into cocktails.
Jackfruit is a relative of the fig and has risen in popularity in recent years due to its use as a meat alternative in vegan and vegetarian cooking. The fruit enjoys superfood status for its antioxidants, nutrients and vitamins.
Bottled at 35% ABV, Slapjack Vodka is said to appeal to “millennials’ sense of sustainability, identity and uniqueness”.
Slapjack Vodka is created at a microdistillery in the northern hills of Georgia, US. The brand joins MBF Company’s other products such as 404 Vodka, Jeveux Vodka and the Boja Bo wine brand.
