Beam Suntory brings Irish distribution in house
Maker’s Mark owner Beam Suntory has appointed Lucozade Ribena Suntory Ireland (LRSI) as its spirits distributor in the Republic of Ireland.
Beam Suntory brands will now be distributed in Ireland by Lucozade Ribena Suntory Ireland
LRSI will take over distribution of Beam Suntory’s spirits portfolio, including brands such as Jim Beam Bourbon, Courvoisier Cognac, Kilbeggan Irish whiskey, Teacher’s blended Scotch whisky, Roku Japanese Gin and Sipsmith gin, from Irish distributor Barry & Fitzwilliam.
Mark Aherne, general manager, LRSI, said: “I am delighted that LRSI has become the official distributor of the Beam Suntory brands in Ireland. It is a very exciting opportunity for our company and we look forward to strengthening and expanding the position of Beam Suntory’s premium spirits portfolio in the Irish market.”
The distribution agreement is the first of its kind between the two companies, which are both part of global beverage company Suntory. The new partnership will further “strengthen and expand the position of Beam Suntory’s premium spirits portfolio in the Irish market”.
Karl Wurm, managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Beam Suntory, said: “We are very excited to build this new route to market in Ireland. This collaboration will be built on the expertise of both teams and enables us to win together in this important spirit market.”
Last year, Beam Suntory announced it would offer its employees 26 weeks of fully paid parental leave and a flexible workplace policy as part of its efforts to create a “more diverse and inclusive culture”.
