WhistlePig founder buys Armagnac Dupeyron

The founder of American whiskey brand WhistlePig has acquired Armagnac producer Maison Ryst Dupeyron for an undisclosed sum.

Armagnac producer Maison Ryst Dupeyron has been sold to WhistlePig founder Raj Bhakta

Raj Bhakta, who founded Vermont-based whiskey distillery WhistlePig, has bought the Armagnac house through Bhakta Farms.

Bhakta and his team intend to “leverage their spirits expertise to accelerate the international development” of the Armagnac house, which also produces whiskies and Port.

Future activities of Maison Ryst Dupeyron will be based at the Hôtel de Cugnac, in Condom-en-Armagnac.

Medicis Partners was the exclusive financial advisor to the Ryst family during the acquisition.
