Future and 1800 Tequila record hip-hop album

Tequila brand 1800 has launched the second instalment in its music project 1800 Seconds, this time partnering with US rapper Future to release an album featuring seven rising artists.

US rapper Future appeared on a number of tracks on the album

The Proximo Spirits-owned Tequila brand first launched the initiative last year when it partnered with rapper Pusha-T to promote rising hip-hop stars.

1800 Seconds Vol 2 will give seven artists the opportunity to write and release new tracks with major label resources. The scheme aims to support up-and-coming talent on a national scale.

Future said: “When I got into music, I did it my own way, I made a path for myself. I’ve created shoes to walk down my path and I made them big enough for someone else to walk after me.

“Curating this project with 1800 Tequila gives me a platform to find and collaborate with young artists, help them shape their voice and push their vision. Everyone has a different vision for themselves – real success and magic happens when we come together and work collectively.”

As part of the project, Future selected seven new artists and tasked them with writing and recording a new track that “presents their unique sound to the world”. Executive production for each song came from Nick Papamitrou and Future appeared on a number of tracks on the album.

The album is available now across music streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.

The seven artists featured on the album are Aurora Anthony, Herion Young, Juiicy2xS, Lihtz, Seddy Hendrinx, Shaun Sloan and Test.
