Eden Mill launches Sherry-influenced single malt
By Amy HopkinsScotland’s Eden Mill distillery launched a new limited edition single malt whisky to mark St Andrew’s Day last week.
The new single malt is is “one of the most exciting whisky offerings from Eden Mill”
The producer has released 3,000 bottles of Eden Mill St Andrews 2019 whisky globally. The single malt contains liquid aged in a combination of oloroso Sherry hogheads, Pedro Ximenez Sherry hogsheads and American Bourbon barrels.
Each bottle comes in a presentation box that features a piece of art made by linocut expert Hilke MacIntyre inspired by key moment’s in Eden Mill’s history.
“This limited release is one of the most exciting whisky offerings from Eden Mill in our five years of distilling,” said Scott Ferguson, head distiller at Eden Mill.
“Working with Sherry flavours from the oloroso and the sweet sugary flavour from the Pedro Ximenez casks is something that has been present throughout our previous Hip Flask releases and we want to exhibit our ability to work with these flavours in our 2019 single malt release.”
Eden Mill St Andrews 2019 whisky has been bottled at 46.5% ABV and is priced at £79 (US$103).
The beer and spirits producer is currently building a new combined brewery and distillery in Fife, which will double its whisky capacity.
