Loch Lomond extends golfing partnership

Scottish distiller Loch Lomond has added another golf tournament to its sponsorship portfolio, partnering with the WGC HSBC Champions in China.

Spectators at the WGC HSBC Champions will be able to sample Loch Lomond whiskies

During the 2019 competition, which runs from 31 October until 3 November at the Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China, guests will have the chance to sample a variety of Loch Lomond whiskies.

This year’s competition sees the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Tommy Fleetwood, Sergio Garcia, Francesco Molinari and Shane Lowry compete for the Old Tom Morris Cup, which was last year won by American Xander Schauffle.

Loch Lomond Group CEO, Colin Matthews, said: “We are thrilled to agree a new partnership with such an iconic tournament.

“China is a key market for Loch Lomond Whiskies and we are delighted with our growth there. The interest in golf is also increasing rapidly in China so we are pleased to partner with the tournament and to be able to introduce our award-winning brands to China’s ever expanding golfing community.

“The partnership perfectly complements our existing golf sponsorships and we look forward to another fantastic tournament, whilst giving golf and whisky alike fans further opportunities to sample our incredible range of products.”

The new partnership builds on Loch Lomond Whiskies’ existing golf sponsorships, which includes The Open, AIG Women’s British Open and ASI Ladies Scottish Open.

Earlier this year, the Scotch whisky maker was acquired by a global investment firm for an undisclosed sum.
